Chelsea defender Levi Colwill has come out to share the club’s massive expectations for new arrivals Liam Delap and Joao Pedro. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, Chelsea’s culture has always been to win football matches and trophies, so the new signings like Delap and Joao Pedro must be ready to do everything possible to win.

Colwill added that the supporters are the main force behind the team, and the players really appreciate their support.
His words, “We all know how big this club is and how the culture of the club has always been to win. We’re just trying to reinforce that to young boys and the boys coming in – this club is for winners only. It’s something we all need to do, and we need to strive together.
Everyone coming to Chelsea knows the history of the club, and they know that they’re coming here only to win. We’ve got a great team, and everyone is on the same wavelength to try and win.
I think the fans are the main [driving force]. We feel their energy when we’re playing, and we know what they want us to do – and that’s win. They will never let us forget that. They will push us to try and win for the club and I think they’re the biggest thing that reminds us. To go as far as possible [in the competition] would be amazing, we’re not really thinking about a holiday at the end of the day.”
WOW.
Chelsea Football Club is an English professional football club based in Fulham, West London. Founded in 1905, they play their home games at Stamford Bridge.
The club competes in the Premier League, the top division of English football. They won their first major honour, the League championship, in 1955. The club won the FA Cup for the first time in 1970, their first European honour, the Cup Winners’ Cup, in 1971, and became the third English club to win the Club World Cup in 2022.
On 7 May 2022, Chelsea confirmed that terms have been agreed for a new ownership group, led by Todd Boehly, Clearlake Capital, Mark Walter and Hansjörg Wyss, to acquire the club. The group was later known as BlueCo.
The UK government approved the £4.25bn takeover, ending Abramovich’s 19-year ownership of the club. Bruce Buck, who served as chairman since 2003, was replaced by Boehly, while long-serving club director and de facto sporting director Marina Granovskaia left, as did Petr Čech from the role of technical and performance advisor.
