Former Kogi West Senator, **Dino Melaye**, has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is “dead and buried,” insisting that the opposition party is now under the influence of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Melaye, a prominent member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), made the remarks on Monday night while featuring on Arise Television’s Prime Time.
“Apart from our Lord Jesus Christ, no dead can rise again, and I want to tell you that whatever you are seeing is make-shift. The dead is dead, we can only advertise the obituary,” Melaye said.

He alleged that the PDP had been compromised and was no longer independent.
“Dead and buried, PDP was sold and I’m not sure if they got the receipt of payment. What you have now is APC-controlled PDP. It’s a party being controlled from the Villa; it’s the agents of the APC that control the PDP,” he stated.
The former lawmaker also reacted to comments credited to Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, who recently suggested that the PDP was struggling to function as a coherent political party.
“If a sitting governor is saying let’s have a party first, it means that there is no party,” Melaye noted.
Reaffirming his political alignment, Melaye said he remains a “proud member” of the ADC, which he believes will unseat President Bola Tinubu in the next general elections.
“I’m a proud member of the ADC and that is the party that will unseat Tinubu and, by the grace of God, send him out of the Villa come May 29, 2027,” he declared.
