Former Kogi West Senator Dino Melaye has called on the suspended acting national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Damagum, to switch allegiance to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, Melaye accused Damagum of undermining the PDP and described him as an “agent of destruction.”
“APC agent of destruction, enough is enough, Damagum. Go and join APC in peace. Bye-bye, Damagum, the harm you’ve done is enough,” Melaye wrote.

Damagum, along with PDP National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu, was suspended by a faction of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) over alleged misconduct.
The same faction also announced the suspension of the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, and National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade.
However, the Federal High Court in Abuja has issued an order restraining the PDP’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and Board of Trustees (BoT) from removing Damagum as acting national chairman.
The court ruled that Damagum should remain in office until the party’s national convention scheduled for December 2025, emphasizing that no other person should be recognized as the PDP chairman until then.
