The bodies of Diogo Jota and his brother, André Silva, have arrived at a church in Portugal ahead of their funeral. Mourners arrived early on Friday morning to pay their respects at a wake in Gondomar after Jota and his sibling died in a shocking crash on Thursday, July 3.
According to the local parish priest, Jose Manuel Macedo, the wake will happen around 8 am at the nearby Capela de Ressurreicao before their funeral at the Igreja Matriz, the Catholic church next door, on Saturday morning at 10 am.
“We’re available to celebrate [their life] with everyone and to share the pain and the Christian hope,” Macedo said to CNN.

Left with an empty ground, Houlding founded Liverpool in 1892 and the club has played at Anfield ever since. The capacity of the stadium at the time was 20,000, although only 100 spectators attended Liverpool’s first match at Anfield.
