Dolphins defender Victor Ezuruike has said his side will upturn the slim 0-1 defeat at Leones Vegetarianos of Equatorial Guinea in the Caf Confedration Cup competition.
.
The Garden City host the West African challengers in the reverse fixture on Saturday at the Liberation Stadium in Port Harcourt.
.
Ezuruike said his teammates have decided to put aside the domestic difficulties to win big for themselves.
.
“We’ve decided to succeed against Leones Vegetarianos on Saturday irrespective of the tough challenges confronting us at the moment.
.
“The encounter is certain to be difficult but we’ve agreed among ourselves to win and advance to the next stage of the competition.
.
“Leones Vegetarianos are good and strong side though we would’ve got something decent in Malabo if not for the unpardonable misses at goal.
.
“The hurdle that stares us in the face and the next stage is the slim 0-1 defeat in Malabo, but we’re determined to cross it with as many as two or three unreplied goals.
.
“The situation is that encouraging on the home front but we’ve resolved to go out there and win for ourselves and our teeming supporters too.
.
“It won’t be good for our image and reputation to exit the championship at this early stage so we must fight hard to stay alive,” said the former Heartland strongman to supersport.com.
.
Victory will guarantee Dolphins passage to the second round of Africa’s second tier club competition.
