A member of the House of Representatives, Lado Suleja has come out to air his displeasure over being forced to donate two months of his salary to Nigeria’s fight against coronavirus (COVID-19).
Lado revealed that the lawmakers donated the salaries because of the progress of Nigeria but most politicians were not happy about it.
According to him, the case is not different from workers who see their salaries deducted for one reason or another.
He added that the donation has, however, not stopped him from helping poor people in his constituency and he will continue to do so until the coronavirus battle is won.
His words, “We donated the salaries because of the progress of Nigeria but I’m assuring you, most of us were not happy about it, that’s the truth.
“It’s just the way you see workers not happy about salary deductions without their consent.”
