Former Kaduna Central senator, Shehu Sani, has said Nigerians should not blame President Bola Ahmed Tinubu or the All Progressives Congress (APC) for any internal crisis within the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC).
Sani made the remark while reacting to claims by an African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain, Umar Ardo, who alleged that the NDC’s registration was irregular and is currently being challenged in court.

In a post on his X handle, Sani said Ardo had disclosed in an interview that legal action had been initiated over the party’s registration process.
According to Sani, Ardo claimed the party was registered without fulfilling the necessary requirements, allegedly through a court order granted by a judge who previously served in Bayelsa State.
Using an analogy, Sani likened recent political realignments involving figures such as Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to a “divorce and remarriage,” suggesting that fallout from such moves often leads to tensions.
“Peter and Kwankwaso filed for divorce and married a new partner. Naturally, abrupt divorce comes with pains, anger and consequences. The ex will irrationally hunt you. This time around, don’t blame the President or the ruling party,” he wrote.
His comments come amid growing political shifts and legal disputes surrounding emerging opposition platforms ahead of the 2027 general elections.
