Michael Carrick has urged supporters to be
patient with Anthony Martial despite the
youngster’s solid start to life at Manchester
United, as per the Daily Star. Furthermore, the
England international has revealed it’s
incredible the way the Frenchman has settled
following his move.
.
The Frenchman joined the Red Devils in the
summer from Monaco and was named Barclays
Premier League Player of the Month for
September after impressing from the get-go at Old
Trafford.
.
Martial arrived in England with high expectations
on his shoulders after United shelled out what
could potentially rise up to £58m to secure his
services, as per the Daily Star.
.
But Carrick has warned United fans that although
the 19-year-old has caught the eye with his
displays in the colour red so far this term, they
mustn’t expect too much too soon from him.
.
It’s a big step to come to this club to play, with the
expectations and the standards that have been set
– and with that comes responsibility,” Carrick explained.
.
“For a young lad to come over to a new country
and a new culture and doesn’t speak an awful lot
of the language, the start that he’s had is
incredible really.
.
“We just have to be careful and not expect too
much from him because it is early days and he’s
going to have ups and downs, because that’s the
nature of how it goes.
