A sun-like globe. A sickly sweet rapper. And a hefty serving of hits.
Drake brought it all to Auckland on Friday night, restarting his Boy Meets World tour after an eight-month break.
Those months, interrupted with only an occasional performance, had been put to good use, the Canadian rapper promised. New music was on the way.
The sun-like creation took centre stage, with no bad or serious backup dancers around to take over.
“I never sleep around wasting my time. I got s… coming for you, don’t worry,” he told his Kiwi fans, who he said had been bugging him for details since he landed.
From the beginning, after emerging from the stage floor like a genie out of a smoke filled bottle, Drake had a warning.
“I’ve been sitting on the couch, f… waiting. Counting down the days till I get to mother……. Auckland,” he screamed.
“I just gotta take it in. It’s been four five months since I been on stage. I’m just excited.”
More than 10,000 people packed into Spark Arena to see Drake on Friday night.
