Drake Shares His Grass To Grace Story

DrakeReflection is one of Drake’s most humbling traits. He often looks back on influential moments on his journey to success, letting us all know he started from the bottom.

The Toronto rapper posted an image on Instagram on Monday (Jan. 29) of his very first press kit, a promotional package artists send out in hope of gaining exposure and publicity from media outlets.

“This was my first press kit…my accolades in an attempt to get signed were 30 registered fan clubs, over 800 topics on message boards, and performing at Chris Bosh private bday party,” Drake wrote in the caption.

Notice the Chris Bosh reference: At the time, Bosh was the franchise player for the Toronto Raptors. A few short years later, Drake would be named the team’s Global Ambassador.

Earlier this month, the rapper dropped his Scary Hours two-track EP, featuring “God’s Plan” and “Diplomatic Immunity.” “God’s Plan” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and with the two entries, Drake surpassed JAY-Z for most Billboard Hot 100 top 10 hits among rappers.
