President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has called on Nigerians to live in peace, show tolerance and respect one another, irrespective of religious or ethnic differences.
Akpabio made the appeal in his Easter message, conveyed through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh.
He urged Christians to reflect on the virtues of love and peaceful coexistence as they celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

“On behalf of my family, my constituents, the Senate and the National Assembly, I extend my warmest Easter greetings to all Christians in Nigeria and around the world,” he said.
“As we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, let us reflect on the values of love, peace and unity that his message embodies.”
The Senate President further encouraged Nigerians to work collectively towards building a better nation.
“Let us work together to build a nation where everyone can live together in peace, harmony and prosperity,” he added.
Addressing the country’s security challenges, Akpabio called for patience and understanding, assuring citizens that the situation would improve.
“I want to assure Nigerians that we will overcome these difficulties through collective efforts, understanding and prayers,” he said.
He noted that the Armed Forces and other security agencies are working tirelessly to address insecurity across the country.
Akpabio also sympathised with victims of violence nationwide, particularly those affected by recent attacks in Jos.
“I sympathise with families affected by the mindless attacks by terrorists and bandits across the country, especially the recent killings in Jos. I pray that the Almighty God will console the bereaved families,” he said.
He prayed for lasting peace and stability in Nigeria amid ongoing security concerns.
