The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has called on Nigerians to remain hopeful despite the country’s current socio-economic and security challenges.
In an Easter message signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Ladipo Johnson, the party described the nation’s situation as a “dark Friday” that would eventually give way to a “resurrection morning.”

Johnson noted that this year’s Easter celebration comes at a time of significant national difficulty, citing economic hardship and rising insecurity across the country.
“Our hearts are heavy as we reflect on the senseless killings in Plateau State and other troubled parts of the country,” he said.
“We remember those who have suffered, those who have been displaced, and families marking this season in grief. Their pain will not be forgotten.”
The NNPP, however, urged Nigerians not to lose faith, drawing parallels between the Easter message and the country’s current struggles.
“The stone of poor governance, economic instability and fear currently blocking our path to greatness will be rolled away,” Johnson added.
He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to building a nation where security and effective leadership are prioritised, stressing that governance should be driven by service to the people.
The party also called on citizens to use the Easter period for reflection and prayers for national peace, while remaining actively engaged in the democratic process to ensure a better future.
