The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer, Arnold Adimabua Osugo, announced on Sunday that Hon. Ebitonmo Anthony Alapala, of the All Progressives Congress (APC), emerged victorious in the rerun election for the Burutu North Constituency in Delta State.
According to the election result sheet certified by Osugo, Alapala secured 7,728 votes, defeating his closest rival, Hon. Asupa Forteta of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered 6,616 votes.
The Head of Publicity and Enlightenment at INEC confirmed the election results, sending a copy to our correspondent via WhatsApp.
He also stated that the rerun election for the Ethiope-West Constituency is currently being transmitted to the office in Asaba, with a promise to forward the results once received.
As of the time of reporting, there were no reports of violence in Burutu North related to the election.
