    Ed Sheeran Named Top-Earning Musician In The World

    ed sheeranEd Sheeran has become the top-earning musician in the world.

    The British artiste whose songs continue to appeal to the soul got a total of N157,806,085,926 this year (and the year is not even over). What this translates to N3 billion every week.

    The stat, revealed by Pollstar, “a trade publication for the concert industry” states that the 27-year-old has beaten Beyonce, Taylor Swift and Jay Z (all in the Forbes list) to achieve this status.

    According to Pollstar, his Divide tour saw sell almost five million tickets causing him to achieve this more than any artiste has in the last 30 years.

    Sheeran who started off selling his CDs for N460 (£1) in megabuses also earned N55 billion during his Multiply tour in 2014/2015.

    His friend Taylor Swift is next with N55 billion.

    In third place is ‘The Carters’ Jay-Z and Beyonce with N93 billion for their On The Run II tour.
