Former Arsenal striker Eduardo da Silva has admitted that he would jump at the chance to re-sign for the club.
.
The Croatian international originally signed for the Gunners in 2007 following a prolific spell for Dinamo Zagreb.
.
Eduardo started his Arsenal career off in a positive manner and looked to be flourishing before he unfortunately suffered a horrific leg break at the feet of Martin Taylor.
.
Having never recovered his form, Eduardo was sold to Ukrainian outfit Shakhtar Donetsk in 2010.
.
But the striker has been very much a bit-part player for the club, starting just six games so far this season and has subsequently been linked with a move away.
.
Speaking to Il Sussidiario, Eduardo confirmed he would love the chance to re-sign for Arsene Wenger.
.
Eduardo said: “I do not know anything about it, other than what I read in the media.
.
“But of course, who would not like to go to Arsenal? Everybody knows that when I left, everything was done in a friendly manner.
.
“We are still friends and after leaving I spoke several times with Arsene Wenger. I still have many friends in London but of course this does not mean that I will come back to Arsenal.”
.
But Eduardo is under few illusions and understands a return to the Emirates is unlikely. Instead, the Brazilian-born striker is expected to move to Serie A and has confirmed he would also love a move to Italy.
.
Eduardo added: “I would like to play more because of the World Cup. Inter Milan are a great club with great tradition. Who wouldn’t want to play for them?
.
“The Italian league remains one of the most difficult and it is always hard to play against all teams in Serie A”.
