The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Lagos Zonal Directorate 2, on Monday arraigned an accountant, Oguibe Promise Nkwachukwu, and his company, Wifamapp Royalty Global Limited, before Justice R.A. Oshodi of the Lagos State High Court, Ikeja, over the alleged theft of N200 million belonging to Travelstar Web Logistics Limited.
Nkwachukwu, who formerly served as the company’s accountant, is facing a 13-count charge bordering on stealing, contrary to Sections 280(1)(b), (2)(f), and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
According to the EFCC, the defendant, acting through his company, Wifamapp Royalty Global Limited, allegedly converted $36,000 entrusted to him by his employer for personal use.

He was also accused of dishonestly diverting an additional $156,000 from the firm’s account.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to all the charges when they were read in court.
Prosecution counsel, A.A. Usman, urged the court to fix a date for trial and requested that the defendant be remanded in a correctional facility pending the commencement of proceedings.
Defence counsel, Kelvin C. Uzozie, informed the court of a pending bail application and prayed that his client be remanded in EFCC custody instead of a correctional centre.
After hearing both sides, Justice Oshodi adjourned the matter to October 17, 2025, for the hearing of the bail application and ordered the remand of the defendant at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre, Lagos.
