Operatives from the Enugu Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) conducted a successful sting operation in Enugu state on Friday, September 15, 2023. The operation resulted in the arrest of 29 individuals suspected of involvement in internet fraud.
The individuals detained in connection with this operation include Ali Chukwuebuka, Arinze Ede, Charles Aforka, Ugwueke Chidera, Ugwu Felix Chenedu, Chizu Ifejika, Chris Emmanuel, Chukwuka Onye, Chukwuneke Nicholas, Daniel Okwume, Ebubechukwu Egbo Victor, and Ejeh Monday Nelson. Among others apprehended are Francis Peter Ifechukwu, Chibuzor Ikweze Anthony, Joshua Onah, Martin Excel Ozichukwu, Ejeh Moses, Ogbonna Okpata, Ohia Excel, Nicholas Okereke, Kingsley Onyedikachi, Osinachi Johnson, Enejeh Paul, John Samuel, Omeh Kamsichukwu Joseph, Chigozie Egwuatu Chiderem, Okechukwu Ezeka, Johnson Onuorah, and Emmanuel Johnson.

In the course of the operation, law enforcement agents confiscated valuable items from the suspects. These include two Lexus IS 350 automobiles, 45 mobile phones, seven personal computers, one Airtel Wi-Fi device, and one hard drive.
The arrested individuals have been cooperative during their interrogations, providing valuable information to the authorities. As the investigation unfolds, the EFCC is preparing to bring charges against the suspects, and they are expected to appear in court in the near future.
