In a significant operation aimed at curbing cybercrime, the Enugu Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended 32 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud.
The arrests were made simultaneously during sting operations conducted in Awka, Anambra State, and Enugu township, Enugu State.
The suspects, whose identities have been revealed, include Stanley Okechukwu, Chukwudi Michael, Nnaife Onyedika, Nnamdi Christian, Pascal Akachukwu, Ekeme Christian Luke, Denis Chidozie, and Ebuka Mmaduka.
The list continues with Ekene Excellent, Emmanuel Okochi Osita, Akunne Prince Ikenna, Igwe Nnaemeka Shedrack, Nonso Henry Ozo Ekwe, Ebuka Obike Boniface, Goodluck Ameachi Ifeanyi, Hillary Chiemele Chukwudizie, Chinedu Onwuegbusi Ignitus, Onuoha Ifeanyi Anthony, Bassey Nnolue Jason, Chinedu Nnolue Kingsley, Okpe Matthew, Emmanuel Abonyi, Igwenagu Kenechukwu Collins, Joachim Okpe, Kelechi Ibenyenwa, David Chiemerie, Kingsley Ngwu, Ndubuisi Anthony, Collins Chidubem, Innocent Chisom, Kalu Nnachi, and Chukwuemeka Henry.

These arrests were made following credible intelligence pointing to their alleged involvement in internet-related criminal activities.
During the operations, law enforcement agents recovered various items from the suspects, including mobile phones, laptops, and two vehicles: a Lexus ES 350 and a Lexus RX 330.
As investigations into their activities continue, the arrested individuals will be charged to court to face legal proceedings. The EFCC’s diligent efforts in combating cybercrime reflect their commitment to maintaining the rule of law and safeguarding the digital landscape against fraudulent activities.
