A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Ekiti State, Otunba Demola Popoola(ODEP) has congratulated Muslims in Ekiti State on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir.
In a felicitation message in Oye Ekiti, Otunba Popoola expressed happiness that despite the various challenges in the country, Muslim faithful still has the opportunity to show gratitude to God for His benevolence.
He stressed the need for faithful to use the celebration to show love to the needy through sharing of food and other things that would make the less privileged enjoy the day.
Otunba Popoola while appealing to Muslims to imbibe the characters of Prophet Muhammed which centre on love, obedience and kindness urged them to pray for the peace and economic boom of Nigeria.
The APC stalwart used the medium to call on leaders and members to redouble efforts at making the party a veritable platform capable of winning next year governorship election in the state.
The Oye Ekiti born politician who has empowered many people especially the youths promised to continue to contribute his quota to the betterment of humanity.
The aviation expert said ” While wishing Muslims a happy celebration, I urge worshipers not to forget the symbolic significance of the sacrifices of Sallah
“I am of the view that if we imbibe the noble virtues of our faiths by establishing the connectivity between religious teachings and practice, Nigeria will be a better place for us all.
“We can create the greatest impact by putting into practice the noble teachings of our religion.
“In whatever we do in life, we must put the fear of God in our daily activities in order to make our society better,” he said.
The APC chieftain who enjoined Muslims not to abandon all COVID 19 safety protocols, however, called for continued support for the present administration of Governor Kayode Fayemi in Ekiti.
