The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State has announced that it will eject the state’s former governor, Ayodele Fayose.
A statement from the party said that the NWC has been informed of the party’s resolutions and decisions calling for Fayose’s expulsion.
Caretaker Transition Committee Publicity Secretary Chief Olalekan Amerijoye told reporters in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday that the party would no longer tolerate Fayose and other PDP leaders in the state engaging in “unwholesome and anti party activities.”

As is the case with any sizable political organization, difficulties have arisen, causing temporary setbacks.
“While disagreements in opinion are an inevitable part of any maturing political system, we should have known that the common good must always take precedence above our own preferences.
The National Working Committee’s response to the Ekiti stakeholders’ vote to suspend ex-governor Ayodele Fayose from the party is anticipated.
Since our last meeting, the true members of Ekiti PDP have come to a consensus on how to deal with those who have converted the party into a moneymaking enterprise.
“These resolutions have been communicated to headquarters in Abuja by some individuals who are ‘PDAPC’ and we are waiting patiently for their response in the interest of the PDP in Ekiti.”
