The governorship candidate of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) for the June 20 governorship election in Ekiti State, Ayodele Olaniyi Praise, has warned individuals involved in the removal and destruction of campaign posters belonging to other candidates and political parties to desist from the act.
Praise issued the warning in a statement personally signed by him and made available to journalists on Tuesday afternoon, describing the alleged electoral vandalism in the state as unacceptable.
Addressing residents of Ekiti State, the PRP candidate said the destruction of campaign materials undermines democratic principles and peaceful political participation.

“The action of agents removing and defacing campaign posters of other candidates runs contrary to the principles of democracy, fairness and peaceful political engagement,” he said.
He added that political competition must be conducted with civility and respect for the rights of all candidates and parties to freely present their messages to the electorate.
Praise called on those responsible for the act to immediately desist, urging security agencies and relevant authorities to ensure that the democratic space remains open, safe and fair for all participants in the electoral process.
He also reminded political actors that Ekiti State is widely known for its political awareness and commitment to democratic values.
The PRP candidate further appealed to residents not to allow acts of intolerance and intimidation to undermine the integrity of the electoral process ahead of the June 20 governorship election in the state.
He urged his supporters and other political stakeholders to conduct themselves peacefully and responsibly by focusing on presenting their ideas and engaging voters in efforts to build a better future for Ekiti State.
