Ekiti State National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Coordinator, Mr. Tobias Ibe has applauded the Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Ayodele Fayose for putting in place enduring projects during his first tenure.
Mr. Ibe gave the commendation while playing host to the wife of the Governor, Mrs. Feyisetan Fayose who was on a visit to the 2015 Batch ‘A’ corps members at the permanent orientation camp situated at Ise-Orun Ekiti.
He noted that the facilities including borehole and utility vehicle provided at the camp during the first tenure of the present administration has immeasurably aided the smooth running of the NYSC camp in the state.
The State Coordinator solicited for more intervention of the state government at the camp to put an end to grossly inadequate accommodation problem confronting the corps members and camp officials.
He stated that the management of the scheme in the state were able to put some measures which include installation of Close Circuit Camera (CCTV) as well as metal detector in place to enhance the security of lives of corps members posted to the state in the face of security challenges confronting the nation as a whole.
Mr. Ibe expressed appreciation to the Governor’s wife for facilitating the payment of serving corps members’ state allowance that was left hanging by the past administration.
Responding, the wife of the Governor, Mrs. Feyisetan Fayose urged the corps members to conduct themselves as worthy ambassadors of the nation by shunning all forms of social vices during their stay in the state.
She advised them to key into the six point developmental objectives of her husband led administration which is focused on giving hope, succor and opportunity to youths and the entire people of the state, tasking them to maximize the multitude of opportunities the state present them towards a prosperous future.
The Governor’s wife later made a cash donation to them to complement their feeding allowance.
