CAF has upheld the eligibility of player Mohamed Camara for Horoya AC of Guinea in the 2014 Orange CAF Champions League challenged by Moroccan club, Raja Club Atletic, despite the player still belonging to Moroccan Club, Omnisports de Meknès (CODM).
The CAF Organising Committee for Interclub competitions has reviewed the file after numerous reports and documents from the two parties, Raja Club Athletic and Horoya AC.
A first transfer of the player Mohamed Camara took place on 22 April 2013, as an amateur from CODM to AC Horoya on loan, and on 26 April 2013, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation issued to the Guinean Football Federation the International Transfer Certificate (ITC) of the player.
The Committee also established after the end of the loan on 30 August 2013, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation has not asked the Guinean Football Federation to issue an ITC for the player Mohamed Camara to return to his club, CODM.
The Committee confirms that the two clubs have held talks and an agreement for a permanent transfer was found but without irrefutable evidence that this agreement was honoured, despite confirmation that bank transfers were made by Horoya AC to CODM.
The Committee considers that this is a financial dispute between the two clubs that do not prevent the registration of the player by Horoya AC, noting the absence of an ITC from Guinea to Morocco.
Therefore, the Organising Committee for Interclub Competitions confirms the eligibility of the player, Mohamed Camara, for Horoya AC and rejects the reservation made by the Raja Casablanca. Therefore, Horoya AC has qualified for the next stage of the 2014 Orange CAF Champions League.
