Nigerian striker, Emmanuel Emenike reportedly snubbed offers from China to join Premier League side, West Ham.
The striker joined West Ham on a loan deal until the end of the season from Fenerbahce.
African Football reports that the 28-year-old was offered huge bucks from a Chinese Super League club but rejected it for a chance to play in the Premier League.
Chinese clubs have been on a spending spree in recent weeks, with the likes of Jackson Martinez, Ramires, Luiz Adriano and Alex Teixeira all making the move from Europe to Asia.
The report quoted a source who said the deal in China would have fetched Emenike up to $8 million a year, all tax-free.
Emenike told African Football that he has been waiting for a chance to play in the Premier League and he feels that this is the best time.
“As for me, I think this is the best time for me to play in the EPL, there has been lots of speculations linking me to a possible move to England in the last four years but here I am now,” Emenike said.
“It is a thrilling feeling, a fulfilled dream and I am ready to prove my commitment and confidence on the pitch.”
