The Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, Mr. Kanayo Uzuegbu, has called on residents to celebrate Easter responsibly in peace and love, following the example set by Jesus Christ.
In an Easter message issued on his behalf by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the commissioner urged residents to report suspected criminals and their activities to the nearest police station or personnel during this festive period.
He assured the public of adequate security measures, stating that he had directed Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Heads of Tactical and Operational Squads of the Enugu Command to utilize all intelligence and operational resources at their disposal.
“I have ordered them to dominate and ensure visibility patrols and crime prevention in their areas of responsibility,” the commissioner stated.
Uzuegbu congratulated the people of Enugu State, both at home and abroad, as they join other Christians around the world in celebrating Easter, which commemorates the crucifixion, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
He emphasized the significance of Christ’s sacrifice as an act of love, worthy of emulation, and urged residents to continue to be law-abiding, vigilant, and to promptly report any suspicious activities to the police.
Residents can report suspected criminals by calling 08098880172 or 08086671202, or by sending emails to infoenugupolice@gmail.com, the commissioner added.
