Etisalat Never Made Me An Ambassador – Saka

Veteran Nollywood actor Afeez Oyetoro a.k.a Saka has come out to share the demand he once received from a woman he intended to marry. He recently had his say during an interview with Chude Jideonwo, and fans have been reacting.

According to him, the lady insisted that he must own 2 cars before she would agree to be his wife, a response he never saw coming.

Saka added that contrary to what people thought after his adverts for Etisalat, he was never an ambassador for the network.

“The one that I was supposed to marry was demanding that I must have two cars.

A lot of people thought I was an ambassador to Etisalat. No. I didn’t have any formal or official arrangement. I am just a model…”

Charles Igwe noted that Norimitsu Onishi also used the name in a September 2002 article he wrote for the New York Times. The term continues to be used in the media to refer to the Nigerian film industry, with its definition later assumed to be a portmanteau of the words “Nigeria” and “Hollywood”, the American major film hub.

Film-making in Nigeria is divided largely along regional, and marginally ethnic and religious lines. Thus, there are distinct film industries – each seeking to portray the concern of the particular section and ethnicity it represents. However, there is the English-language film industry which is a melting pot for filmmaking and filmmakers from most of the regional industries.
