Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has said the club can still catch Chelsea and win the Premier League this season.
The summer signing was the first player brought in by new manager Pep Guardiola, but has suffered injury issues and is sidelined for the rest of the campaign with a serious knee injury.
However, the 26-year-old Germany international believes that his teammates can overhaul the eight point gap to the Blues.
“Eight points behind Chelsea seems difficult to catch up, but in England everything is possible,” Gundogan told Eurosport.
“The entire season feels like a rollercoaster ride. We started very well, almost record-breaking. Then followed a low.
“In the past games, we have grown again, although we have not always played well.”
City have won their last three games in the Premier League and face Championship side Huddersfield Town in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Saturday.
