Former Governor of Benue State, Gabriel Suswam, expressed skepticism about the ability of President Bola Tinubu’s government to improve Nigeria’s economic situation.
In an interview on Channels Television, monitored by the media outlet, Suswam criticized the current administration, suggesting that it lacks the capacity to steer the country out of the economic challenges inherited from the previous Muhammadu Buhari administration.
Suswam lamented the economic downturn that has persisted since the Buhari era, attributing it to the destruction of the foundation laid by the PDP government.

He expressed disappointment that the promised ‘Change’ under Buhari did not deliver positive results, leading to the current economic hardships faced by Nigerians.
The former governor highlighted policies such as the removal of petrol subsidy, the floating of the naira, and the increase in electricity tariffs as evidence of the government’s failure to alleviate the suffering of the Nigerian masses.
He concluded by asserting that the current leadership under Tinubu lacks the necessary measures to positively impact Nigeria’s economic fortunes.
