Former member of Congress from Kogi State and current member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Ismail Inah Hussein recently switched parties.
On Friday in Ajaka, Igalamela-Odolu Local Government Area, Hussein, who represented Idah Federal Constituency in Kogi State, declared his defection at an APC rally.
The former lawmaker, who along with hundreds of his supporters joined the APC, stated that he made the switch so that he could aid in Kogi State and Nigeria’s progress.

He defended his decision to back APC governorship candidate Usman Ododo on the grounds that the party’s current administration in Kogi State had fostered greater state cohesion, security, and progress.
He has promised to turn out in force for his new party, the APC, in the upcoming governor’s race on November 11.
Abdullahi Bello, the APC chairman in Kogi State, welcomed the new members and expressed optimism that the party will do well in the upcoming election.
Hadi Ametuo, the former APC state chairman, Joel Oyibo, the Zonal APC chairman Muhammed Alfa, David Zacharias, the member of Congress for the Idah federal constituency, and Sadiq Abubakar Ainoko, the former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, were all in attendance.
