Ayodele Fayose, a former governor of Ekiti State, has warned his former party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), against dismissing Nyesom Wike, minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Expelling Wike, a powerful member of the PDP, would be a mistake, Fayose cautioned.
During an appearance on Hard Copy on Channels Television, the ex-governor gave the warning.

Fayose has said, “I will never join another political party the moment I am no longer a member of the PDP. No matter how good or horrible the APC is, I will never join.
There are many who advocate eliminating Wike entirely. They are playing with fire, in my opinion. The most important thing in your family, regardless of how bad things get or how little you care about your spouse, is not to drive them away.
You ignore Wike, you sack Wike, you fight Wike at your own peril. Wike is a power in the PDP and beyond the PDP. He’s a strong and capable man.
Since Wike voted for All Progressives Congress candidate Bola Tinubu in the previous presidential election, there have been calls for the PDP to eject him from the party.
The new minister of the FCT has recently said that he cannot be kicked out of the former ruling party.
