The Football Association has officially broken its silence following the seismic news of Manchester City being found guilty of breaching the Premier League’s financial regulations. The FA recently had its say via a press statement, and Nigerians have been reacting.
In a damning assessment of the situation, the governing body suggested that the scale of the rule-breaking has left a permanent stain on the sport‘s reputation.

The governing body concluded by making it clear that they are watching the fallout closely while refusing to rule out their own disciplinary measures.
It read, “The Independent Commission’s decision has significant implications for the integrity of the game.
We are carefully considering the decision and its implications and will take action where appropriate.
As proceedings between the Premier League and Manchester City Football Club remain ongoing, we do not intend to comment further at this stage.
We will, however, continue to monitor developments closely.”
