The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Nyesom Wike, has announced that two out of the three Bus and Taxi Terminals under construction by the FCT Administration will be ready by January 2025.
Wike made this known during an inspection of the ongoing projects in Abuja on Tuesday.
He emphasized that upon completion, all buses and taxis would be required to operate from designated terminals, ensuring better traffic management across the FCT.

Expressing satisfaction with the progress made since the project’s commencement in July, Wike noted that the contractor was initially given 15 months to deliver the terminals at Mabushi, Eagle Square, and Kugbo.
However, the contractor has promised to complete the Mabushi and Kugbo terminals by January, nine months ahead of schedule.
“For the terminal at Eagle Square, we encountered some issues related to underground facilities, but those have been resolved in collaboration with the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA).
I am confident that work will resume soon,” Wike said.
The minister highlighted that the terminals are part of efforts to improve transportation infrastructure and enhance commuter safety in the FCT, aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” aimed at reducing insecurity.
Wike stressed that the new facilities are designed to provide a more secure and convenient travel experience for residents of the capital territory.
