Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State will come to life when 25 brides will be involved in a mass wedding courtesy Nollywood actor, Femi Adebayo tomorrow, October 28.
The event is in honour of a culture promotion, which seeks to exalt a historic tale of a one-breasted woman who became a deity, having helped an indigene of Shawo in Kwara.
Tagged ‘Awon Mass Wedding’ festival, its theme follows the said woman’s instruction that the people of Shawo should always marry off their daughters in mass weddings.
Femi Adebayo, the Special Assistant to Kwara State governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed on Arts, Culture and Tourism, has said 25 brides would participate in the Shawo mass wedding.
Ronke Oshodi-Oke and Wasiu Alabi Pasuma will also feature in a stage play in honour of the event which is aimed at promoting tourism in the state.
