Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has vowed to deliver 85 per cent of the votes in the state for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
Fintiri made the pledge on Wednesday during a courtesy visit to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda.
The visit followed the governor’s recent defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC, alongside members of his cabinet and a significant segment of the PDP structure in Adamawa State.

During the meeting, Fintiri reaffirmed his loyalty to the ruling party and declared his unwavering support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid.
He described his move to the APC as a strategic decision aimed at strengthening the party, fostering national unity, ensuring long-term stability and development in Adamawa State, and consolidating support for the president’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“I assure you that Adamawa State will deliver at least 85 per cent of the votes for President Tinubu and the APC in the forthcoming elections,” the governor stated.
Responding, the APC National Chairman welcomed Fintiri’s assurances, noting that high-profile defections would further consolidate the party’s strength and unity ahead of future electoral contests.
