Five-star Ghana complete Liberia double

Ghana’s Black Meteors beat Liberia 5-1 on Saturday to complete a double and set up a date with Congo at the second round of the qualifiers of the African U-23 Championship Senegal 2015.
The Meteors were simply too much for their Liberian counterparts, who adopted the northern Ghanaian city of Tamale, as their home grounds following a home ban due to the Ebola virus outbreak.
With a 2-0 cushion from the first leg at the same venue seven days ago, the Ghanaians confirmed their superiority to remain on course for their first ever appearance at the Olympics since 2004, thanks to a 7-1 aggregate win.
Striker Richard Gandze broke the deadlock on 20 minutes before Baba Mensah solidified the lead five minutes later.
The Lone Stars pulled one back through Van Dave Harmon on 34 minutes only for Dauda Mohamed to restore the two-goal lead of the Ghanaians six minutes before the break.
In-form Asante Kotoko forward Mohamed completed his brace on the hour-mark to take the game beyond the Liberians before Tamimu Muntari signed off victory with the fifth on 77 minutes.
