Holders Ghana crashed out of the ongoing African Games Brazzaville 2015 after Senegal held Nigeria 1-1 in the ultimate Group B match on Saturday at the Unity Stadium, Kintele.
Nigeria finished at the summit of the three-team group with four points, Senegal on two points and Ghana in that order with a point.
The draw was enough for the Senegalese, who were on the path of victory only for a stoppage time equalizer from the Nigerians to rob them of the maximum points.
After a barren first half, ‘Les Lionceaux’ broke the deadlock on 81 minutes through Ibrahima Keita, who took on the Dream Team’s defence before firing past goalkeeper Emmanuel Daniel.
The Nigerians however had the last laugh with Mustapha Abdullahi drawing level with virtually the last kick of the game to earn his side a vital point.
Senegal will face hosts Congo at the semis, with Nigeria set for a date with the runner-up from Group A, to be decided after the ultimate matches on Sunday.
