It is anticipated that former Senate President Senator Adolphus Wabara would have to explain some utterances to a disciplinary committee that will be established by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State.
These statements have been attributed to him in recent media reports.
Abraham Amah, who serves as acting Publicity Secretary for the Abia PDP and also serves as Vice Chairman, stated that the committee will be inaugurated following the party’s State Working Committee (SWC) meeting. This information comes from Abraham Amah.
Amah, who made this information public in Umuahia during a live broadcast on Flo 94.9 FM, stated that Wabara, who is now serving as the interim chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT), should take this opportunity to apologize to the party for making statements that have the potential to cause ‘collateral damage’ to the reputation of the PDP.
The Vice Chairman of the PDP stated that the former President of the Senate was free to make personal views on the topic of governance in both the state and the country as a whole; however, he emphasized that these statements should not be made in a way that would be detrimental to the PDP.
A meeting of the State Working Committee is scheduled to take place in a few days, and during that meeting, we are going to establish a disciplinary committee. Amah has pledged that he will bring him before the disciplinary committee.
In addition to this, he pledged that the party would never forgive Wabara unless he apologized to the disciplinary committee for the allegedly careless statements that he had made.
According to him, the claim made by the former President of the Senate that he was misquoted by the media was not acceptable to the Abia PDP until the former Senate President appeared before the disciplinary committee to explain himself and make the required apologies. Only then would the Abia PDP accept his claim.
The Abia PDP has just lately published a statement in which it disowns the claimed endorsement of Governor Alex Otti for a second term in office that was given by the former Senate President.
Abraham Amah praised Governor Alex Otti for taking the initiative to turn the Lokpanta Cattle Market in Umuchieze, which is located in the Umunnochi Local Government Area, into a daily market. The directive was just issued by the government of Abia State. He did, however, mention that the previous administration of Okezie Ikpeazu, who was in charge of the PDP, should also be given credit for developing the daily market template.
In addition to this, he suggested to Governor Alex Otti that local government elections be held in the 17 LGAs rather than appointing mayors for the councils, as had been suggested in the media.
