The National Vice Chairman (South-South) of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Victor Giadom, has said that Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, cannot record any electoral success without the backing of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
Giadom made the assertion while speaking on the political dynamics in Rivers State, particularly in Gokana Local Government Area.

He described Wike as the dominant and most influential political figure in Gokana, insisting that his influence remains unchallenged and indispensable to any political ambition in the area.
According to him, Wike is a dependable leader whose political structure controls the political landscape of Gokana.
“I guarantee, on behalf of my brothers, that the Gokana people are for Wike and Tinubu, and nobody will challenge Wike’s influence in Gokana.
“Gokana is a ‘no-go area’ for anybody, even Governor Fubara. For him to win anything in Gokana, he must pass through Wike,” Giadom said.
Also speaking, former Senator Magnus Abe affirmed the loyalty of the Gokana people to Wike and President Bola Tinubu, urging the President not to bother campaigning in the area as their support is already guaranteed.
The comments come amid renewed political tension between Wike and Fubara over the control of Rivers State’s political structure.
InfoStride News reports that Wike, on Monday, dismissed Fubara’s claim of being the leader of the APC in Rivers State.
The FCT minister also warned that sudden declarations of support for President Tinubu do not automatically guarantee a party ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections.
