Galatasaray To Make January Move For Mikel Obi

Mikel1-300x300Super Eagles midfielder Mikel Obi could be on his way to Turkish giants Galatasaray in the January transfer window.

Mikel has been a bit-part player at struggling Chelsea, having made just nine appearances this season.

Mikel also made just six league starts in Chelsea’s title-winning campaign last year due to the form of first-choice defensive midfielder Nemanja Matic.

According to talksport, Galatatasary are now planning to make contact with Chelsea in the coming days to try and agree a fee for the 28-year-old.

Mikel’s current deal with the Blues runs until 2017 but the club are unlikely to offer him a new one and could take advantage of Galatasaray’s interest next month.

He was an unused substitute for the Blues in Monday night 2-1 away loss to Leicester City, which leaves them 16th in the league table.
