The final season of Game of Thrones will be released in April 2019, according to HBO.
The network also put together a short teaser to announce its #ForTheThrone campaign ahead of the final season of the show.
According to Rolling Stone, HBO is planning a series of outdoor events in New York and Los Angeles to launch its #ForTheThrone campaign.
“The first kicks off November 27th at Grand Central Station in New York City and will include a limited run of Game of Thrones subway cards,” RS reports.
The show won its third Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series in September 2018, will have only six episodes in its eight and final season.
Speaking in an interview on what to expect, one of the show’s stars, Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth) said “[The episodes are] definitely going to be bigger and what I hear is longer. We’re filming right up until the summer. When you think about it, up until last season we’d have six months to do ten episodes, so we’re [doing] way more than that for six episodes. So that obviously will translate into longer episodes.”
Game of Thrones fans out there should brace-up for an exciting season finale in April.
