National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has inaugurated the newly constituted executive committee of the APC France Chapter, urging Nigerians in the diaspora to throw their weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reforms and Renewed Hope Agenda.
The inauguration ceremony took place over the weekend in Paris, drawing prominent members of the APC diaspora community.
Ganduje, while addressing the gathering, emphasized the need for unity among party members abroad and highlighted the crucial role of the diaspora in advancing the administration’s economic transformation efforts.

In a statement issued on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, Ganduje commended the diaspora’s contributions to expanding the APC’s reach internationally through active membership recruitment and political mobilization.
He acknowledged that the ongoing reforms under President Tinubu may come with short-term challenges, but insisted they are vital to repositioning Nigeria’s economy for long-term growth.
“These reforms, though seen as painful by some, are necessary steps to reposition Nigeria’s economy for sustainable development,” Ganduje stated.
He further reassured the diaspora community of the APC’s commitment to achieving diaspora voting through collaboration with the National Assembly, enabling Nigerians abroad to participate fully in the nation’s democratic process.
“We appreciate you for holding the banner of our party, expanding its membership, and supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, especially in light of the critical reforms he is undertaking,” Ganduje said. “There is now more funding for capital development, and both governors and local government chairmen can attest to this.”
Looking ahead to the 2027 general elections, Ganduje expressed confidence in the APC’s growing stability and political momentum, citing recent defections from opposition parties as a sign of the APC’s increasing strength.
“There is peace in the APC, unlike in other parties that are battling internal crises. Because of this enabling environment, many are decamping to our party, including Senators, members of the House of Representatives, State Assemblies members, and other notable political figures. Our party respects its constitution and practices internal democracy,” he added.
In her remarks, the newly inaugurated Chairperson of the APC France Chapter, Hajjiya Amina Suzuki, underscored the indispensable role of the Nigerian diaspora in the country’s development—not only as economic contributors but also as active political stakeholders.
“The Nigerian diaspora contributes billions in remittances and investments, but we are also thought leaders and proud ambassadors of Nigeria’s democracy,” she said.
