Italy have announced former AC Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso as the new manager for the national team. He was recently named the replacement for the sacked Luciano Spalletti, and fans have been reacting.
According to the Head of the National Team Delegation for Italy, Gianluigi Buffon, after some pretty intense meetings between the president and the entire federation, the country eventually decided on the best possible choice for the job.
His words, “We have worked, we are now waiting for the final details. The president and the entire federation have had some pretty intense days, full of moments of all kinds. I think that in the end we have made the best possible choice.”
Italy will take on Estonia and Israel in their next set of World Cup qualifiers, which will be Gattuso’s first two games with the national side.
