Giwa FC coach, Aminu Musa has been named the best team sports coach in Plateau state for 2014.

The award by Hillsaint Sport is meant to appreciate and reward coaches who excelled in their various sports.

Musa commended the organisers to have noticed his brief stint as head coach Giwa FC in the past season.

He thanked the owner of the club, Ambassador Chris Giwa for giving him this great platform to showcase himself as well as rub shoulders with some of the best coaches in the land.

“I sometime pinched myself to be certain that I was not dreaming as the award came to me as a magic. I thank the organisers for deeming me fit for the enviable award.

“I never expected myself to be lifted that high from the goalkeeper trainer to the exalted position of leading a technical crew of a premier league side in Nigeria.

“I can only say thank you to the owner of the club, the understanding and cooperation of my assistant, Sammy Adesoji though a journalist and the marketing director of the club but he knows the technical aspect of the game as well and my great players who gave their all for the great result of last season,” said Musa to supersport.com.

Musa said it was not all that difficult for him to tinker the team when he was called upon to take over the saddle of the club because he had learnt his ropes under great coaches like Ajala, Ben Duamlong, Ismaila Mabo, Kadiri Ikhana, Shola Popo, among others.

“The tutorials I got from the likes of Ajala, Duamlong, Mabo, Ikhana have been quite influential in my career.
