Special Adviser to Gov. Siminalayi Fubara on Political Affairs and Strategy, Darlington Orji, has rebutted recent allegations made by Rivers APC Chairman, Tony Okocha, regarding the administration’s performance.
During a press briefing on Tuesday, Okocha criticized Fubara’s administration as “visionless” and accused them of reckless spending.
In response, Orji defended the administration, highlighting its commitment to transforming Rivers State into a model state.

He emphasized efforts to promote civil servants and ensure timely payment of workers’ salaries, arrears, and gratuities.
Orji listed several ongoing infrastructure projects, including road and bridge constructions, the rehabilitation of the Psychiatric Hospital, and the revival of the employment project at Ignatius Aguru University, as notable achievements of the administration.
He reiterated Gov. Fubara’s unwavering focus on serving the people of Rivers State, despite distractions from such accusations.
Orji stated, “The governor has ensured that construction of roads and bridges are ongoing in Alesha Road in Eleme.
When you go to Bori internal roads, you will see the signature of the governor, which shows that he is focused and not ready to be distracted.”
He also expressed gratitude that Okocha acknowledged the administration’s commitment to the ring road project, which is a key initiative of Gov. Fubara.
Orji concluded by highlighting the governor’s responsiveness to the needs of the people, citing the recent promotion and payment of the 30 percent minimum wage to local government workers as evidence of Gov. Fubara’s commitment to the welfare of the people.
He affirmed, “The governor is generally accepted by the people because he is doing what the people want.
We can see the rehabilitation of the Psychiatric Hospital ordered by the governor, and the reopening of the employment project at the Ignatius Aguru University and other programmes done by his administration.”
