Prince Dapo Abiodun, governor of Ogun State, has named Lekan Adeniran to the position of chief press secretary.
During his first stint as governor, Kunle Somorin was appointed by Abiodun to serve as his chief press secretary.
But on Tuesday, a statement from the governor’s office, signed by the SSG, Tokunbo Talabi, revealed the new CPS.

In the statement, Mr. Talabi stated, “the appointment takes immediate effect.”
After finishing his degree in Mass Communication, Talabi said that Adeniran had “over three decades of experience as a journalist.”
According to the official release, the new appointee began his career in journalism in 1992 at The Guardian, where he wrote about the Social Democratic Party (SDP), the Lagos State House of Assembly, and the Governor’s Office in Alausa, Ikeja.
He moved over from The Guardian to the up-and-coming Daily Independent in 2001. The new CPS collaborated with other media outlets like the Compass, Next, and National Mirror.
Before his new position, he was the editor of WesternPost, an online newspaper, the statement said.
