Carrick Will Cope With Lopsided Fixture Schedule – Maresca

Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca has responded to Michael Carrick regarding the lopsided fixture schedule ahead of Sunday’s Manchester derby. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.

According to him, even though his team will benefit from two additional days of recovery compared to MUFC, elite clubs must simply find a way to cope with the demands of European competition.

Maresca added that City navigated an identical scenario last season when they hosted Napoli on a Thursday before travelling to Arsenal on Sunday.

His words, ” be honest, the club mentioned to me that it happened exactly the same last year when the club played Napoli and then after two days played Arsenal. Sometimes it happens in football.

I don’t have any doubt that Man United are going to be ready for that.

That happens and you need to adapt. It happened last year with us, this season with them, next season it will happen with a different team.
