Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has given the green light for the provision of a take-off site for the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences, Kwale, in Ndokwa West Local Government Area.
The announcement was made by the Commissioner for Lands, Surveys, and Urban Development, Emamusi Obiodeh, on Friday.
The approved take-off site for the university is the location previously occupied by the Delta State School of Marine Technology in Kwale.

Governor Oborevwori has allocated 15 hectares of land, along with all the existing facilities and infrastructure from the former marine technology school, which has since relocated to its permanent site.
Speaking on the development, Commissioner Obiodeh stated, “The new university will operate from this take-off site until it moves to its permanent 100-hectare location at Umuseti-Kwale.”
He also conveyed Governor Oborevwori’s gratitude to the Federal Government for selecting Delta State as the home for this specialized university.
Furthermore, the commissioner expressed the state government’s readiness to collaborate with the Federal Government and other potential investors interested in investing in Delta State.
He highlighted Governor Oborevwori’s directive to provide land to investors willing to partner with the state on projects that would positively impact the lives of the people of Delta State and Nigerians at large.
