Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, has attributed the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo and Kogi during the recent off-cycle election to the party’s surging popularity.
Governor Uzodinma emphasized that Nigerians express contentment with the APC, citing the impactful leadership of President Bola Tinubu.
Securing his reelection in Imo, Uzodinma triumphed over rivals from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party. In Kogi, the APC’s candidate, Usman Ododo, also emerged victorious.

However, the People Democratic Party secured a win in Bayelsa State, with Governor Douye Diri reelected.
Governor Uzodinma and Ododo paid a visit to President Tinubu at the presidential Villa, presenting him with their certificates of return.
During this meeting, Uzodinma highlighted the significance of APC’s triumph in Kogi and Imo, characterizing it as indicative of the party’s “growing popularity.”
Uzodinma stated, “Our victory at the polls shows that Nigerians are still very happy with the APC. Nigerians voted en-mass for the President, and this victory validates this claim through the voters in Kogi state and Imo state.”
He expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his support, advice, and wisdom, underscoring the impact of Tinubu’s achievements since assuming the presidency, which, according to Uzodinma, played a crucial role in convincing voters to support the APC candidates.
