Mr. Peter Obi, a member of the Labour Party, LP, has declared that his party will win the governorship election in Imo State on November 11. He based this prediction on the party’s reputation for quality and performance.
On Tuesday, Obi gave a speech during the flag off of the party’s gubernatorial campaign in Owerri, the State capital.
The former governor of Anambra State said that now that a “first-class brain” who knows what he’s doing is in charge of Abia State, the people of that state may finally rest easy.
As the only candidate of the party in Imo State, he defended LP gubernatorial nominee Athan Achonu and LP national chairman Julius Abure, calling Achonu’s selection as the party’s nominee for governor a credible process.
It’s LP’s goal to transform Nigeria. Please provide us the chance, Nigeria. If you give Nigeria a chance, we promise to bring about change. There is optimism in Abia State now because of effective leadership.
We want leaders in Nigeria who will actually implement their policies. The means to transform Nigeria are within our grasp. That’s why we’ve made this trip. Together, we have the tools to transform Imo,” he declared.
