Gunmen launched a brazen attack on Saturday in the Umu-Ezuboke Umualor community, located in the Isi-Uzo local government area of Enugu State, leaving several individuals hospitalized with gunshot wounds.
According to reports by Vanguard, at least four victims are currently receiving medical treatment after sustaining multiple gunshot injuries during the assault.
Mr. Methodist Ejiagbo, one of the victims recovering in the hospital, recounted the harrowing ordeal:

“Three months ago, some individuals from Abakaliki threatened us, claiming they would invade our farmlands and seize our properties. Yesterday, armed men in police-like uniforms arrived in two Hilux vans and a Sienna bus.
They confiscated phones and machetes from villagers returning from their farms. Later that night, around 11 pm, they returned and opened fire indiscriminately, using machetes and clubs to attack people. It was a terrifying experience.”
Ejiagbo identified some of the assailants by name, linking them to the Abakaliki and Amankanu communities.
He accused them of using charms and unleashing violence over disputed land claims.
The Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, Daniel Ndukwe, has not yet provided official confirmation of the attack.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist in the investigation.
